Role overview
The product specialist role is for a person who wants to contribute to the end-to-end development of solar PV solutions for retail customers.
The product will include 3 core components : A battery, an inverter and solar panels.
A significant amount of time with be spent on :
Designing the proposition
Sourcing vendors for each core component
Ensuring due diligence checks are done on each vendor
Ensuring vendors build the required parts of the PV solution
Designing operational processes in order to sell the product
Managing a few internal resources and liaising with a range of contractors and vendors.
Additionally, this role with start research into value added services required for a home loan product. This may include technical and non technical solutions such as wifi, sensors and security packages.
Role description
Design the end-to-end retail solar PV solution for retail customers.
Ensure that solution designed aligns to the Customer value proposition (CVP) and product strategy of core product. This solar PV solution will be an ancillary product to an additional core product.
Significantly contribute to the development of operational processes required to sell this product.
Liaise with internal legal and governance team to set-up legal agreements with suppliers
Build marketing collateral in order to sell the solution
Conduct research on appropriate value added services for a home loan product, approach partners and create business cases for such services to be incorporated into the overall proposition.

Undertakes feasibility evaluation / testing with limited supervision
Undertakes final product testing / validation / changes and co-ordinates with various business partners to ensure a smooth product build
Undertakes knowledge management processes and practices with limited supervision
Undertakes model / prototype development, testing, reporting and changes with limited supervision
Works independently to undertake market / competitor / customer focused research and document / present findings
Requirements
Non Negotiable
At least 12 months experience designing or building solar PV solutions for corporate or retail customers. This could have been in a finance or product development capacity and not necessarily an engineering role.
3 year relevant degree
Ability to work without supervision
Ability to communicate with stakeholders in other areas of the business
Excel, Word
